School project:

We got the assignment to improve the wake-up experience, focusing on the aesthetics of the interaction. This led to the design of Splush.

Splush is a tool for people who aspire to be fresh first thing in the morning. We analysed the currently popular alarm clock by distinguishing what it does very well and what can be improved. The conclusion was drawn that things we didn’t like about alarm clocks, such as the hard sound or flashing lights, are exactly the things that make an alarm clock work. Therefore, we think a waking up experience should not necessarily be a nice and peaceful experience.

For this project the focus was not put on designing a complete product, but rather on designing the interaction between the object and the user in an aesthetic way.
